Violence continues to plague Iraq. A bomb explosion has targeted a group of Shia pilgrims near the capital Baghdad.
More than 20 people have been killed and dozens more wounded in the car bomb blast in Nahrawan, an area northeast of Baghdad. The pilgrims were walking to the shrine of Imam Musa Kazim, the seventh Shia Imam, for annual commemorations. Local officials say the death toll is expected to mount as some of those injured are in critical condition. There's been no claim of responsibility but similar attacks are usually blamed on Takfiri groups such as Daesh. Last month, more than 1100 Iraqis lost their lives nationwide.
